LAST 2018 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT DEMON HEADING TO COLLECTOR AUCTION

May 31, 2018

The very last Canadian built 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon rolled off the assembly line this week and is now auction bound. It will be sold to the highest bidder at the June 20-23 Barrett Jackson Northeast Auction.

The limited production, 2018 Demon will be auctions along with the last 2017 Dodge Viper. They will be offered as a pair in the "Ultimate Last Chance" sale. All of the money generated will be donated to the United Way.

After the Dodge Challenger Demon SRT left the Brampton assembly facility it was taken to an upfit center for the final stages of assembly. The car  will get extras including a hand painted exclusive VIPER RED paint job, 18 inch aluminum wheels, and 18 inch drag radial tires. The car will also get special Demon bading and a one-of-a-kind VIN instrument panel badging.

For people who say today's cars are all the same and that there is nothing collectible out there, the Viper and Demon combo prove them wrong. The cars show that American Muscle is still alive and well and that specialty cars still are still being produced, driving the collector market forward, and fueling overall automotive sales by creating excitement around performance oriented brands like Dodge.

The winning bidder at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction, held at the Mohegan Sun Resort in Uncasville, Connecticut, will  take home a combined 1,485 horsepower.  The 840-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is the first and only purpose-built, street-legal production drag car with the most powerful production V-8 engine and 20-plus industry-first, drag-performance features. The 645-horsepower Dodge Viper with an 8.4L V-10 engine, aerospace-grade lightweight carbon fiber body, iconic side exhaust and massive 14-inch wide rear tires also represents a pinnacle of performance for an iconic brand and a legendary supercar.

The VIPER leaves behind a 25-year legacy.  It earned more track records than any other production car.  The production of the V-10-powered Dodge Viper concluded at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit in August 2017. The last production 2017 Dodge Viper has styling which pays tribute to the first-generation Dodge Viper RT/10 with its Viper Red exterior and black interior.

The Viper to be auctioned has (VIN ending in 731948) and includes exterior carbon fiber accents, black Alcantara leather seats and an exclusive VIN instrument panel badge and authentication kit.

Dodge//SRT and Barrett-Jackson have come together before. The last collaboration saw a one-of-a-kind 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, VIN0001, raise $1.65 million for charity. In 2014 that was more than any other car in Barrett-Jackson history. More info is available at: Dodge Garage.
