70 YEARS OF PORSCHE CELEBRATED AT CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL AUTOSHOW

Porsche is celebrating their 70th anniversary in a big way at the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show. To accommodate the occasion Porsche is putting on a special five-car exhibit with some of the brand’s most celebrated and iconic models.

The five cars on display are:

356

In 1948, Porsche's first production vehicle rolled off the line. The 356 made its impact in the automotive world with it's agile handling and comfort that was unprecedented in sports cars at the time. The 356 is a lightweight, rear-engine, two-door vehicle available both in hardtop coupé and open configurations.

912

Despite the Porsche 911's massive popularity in the sports car world, it was actually the 912, an entry-level alternative to the 911, which secured the brand’s early success. The 912 is a nimble-handling compact performance 2+2, delivering 90 SAE horsepower at 5800 rpm.

911 (930) Turbo

With a top speed of 246 km/h, the first turbocharged 911 was the fastest production car in Germany at the time.

Carrera GT

The performance of the Carrera GT is praised even today with its impressive 605 horsepower output and ability to go 0-100 km/h in under four seconds. The 5.7-litre V10 engine in the GT was first developed for a Le Mans prototype car.

918 Spyder

The 918 Spyder embodies the purest essence of the Porsche brand. It's 4.6-litre V8 engine produces a total of 887 horsepower, marking it as the world’s first hybrid hypercar. Production for the Spyder began on September 18, 2013 and had a starting price of 2.4 Million dollars.

See all these vehicles at the Canadian International Auto Show on Level 100 of the North Building. The event is open to the public February 16th-25th 2018 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
