The 2019 Ram 1500 made a big appearance at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show at the Cobo Center.

Under the hood is a 3.6-litre Pentastar V-6 engine that will come standard. The new 48-volt e-Torque system adds 90 lb-ft of torque. As an option the 48-volt e-Torque system can be paired with a 5.7-litre Hemi V-8 engine that adds 130 lb-ft of torque. Both of the engines come with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Eam is aiming at a very specific type of truck buyer. The video explains how the truck maker views its customers - True Americans with solid values - solid...people you can count on, who want trucks they can depend on.

It brings the power as it's maximum payload has increased to 2,300 pounds, and maximum trailer towing has increased to 12,750 pounds. Despite it's power increase, Ram was able to shed off nearly 225 pounds overall compared to the previous model.

One aspect that makes the new Ram truck stand out is it's available in six trim levels—Limited, Longhorn, Laramie, Rebel, Big Horn, and Tradesman. Not only that but it comes in 12 paint colours and 15 new wheel designs to choose from.

On the inside a Harman Kardon audio system with 19 premium speakers provides excellent sound quality and a 10-inch subwoofer is available on several of the trims.

If you want to get yourself into the new 2019 Ram, it goes on sale in the first quarter of the year.
