The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is returning to take its throne.
The 2019 ZR1 is back and stronger than ever with the highest power and best track performance in its production history. The supercar is powered by a LT5 supercharged engine that packs a punch with 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque.
A big reason why the LT5 is able to achieve its record output is thanks to GM's first dual-fuel-injection system which utilizes primary direct injection and supplemental port injection. With the LT5 comes options of either a seven speed manual or eight speed paddle shift automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is a first for a ZR1 vehicle.
"Its unprecedented performance puts all other global supercars on notice that the ZR1 is back," said Mark Reuss, executive vice president, Global Product Development, Purchasing and Supply Chain. There has never been a Corvette like this before.
The stanchion-mounted wings that comes with the aero package helps for faster lap times and better handling due to it pushing the ZR1 harder onto the track. It tops out at a speed of 210 mph.
This is the most aerodynamic Corvette yet as the high wing is estimated to produce 950 pounds of downforce. The front fascia has an all new design made to channel air for the propulsion system and drive-train cooling.
Standard leather trimmed seats, a carbon fiber rimmed steering wheel and Bose premium audio system are just a few of the standouts for the ZR1's impressive interior.
If you're looking to hop into the ZR1, the 2019 model is available for sale next Spring.
