Auto shows are great place for automakers to display their new creations and when it comes to concept cars they hold a great purpose. The crowds reaction to concept cars mightily influences if a vehicle will make it into production or if some changes need to be made to it.
With the Canadian International Auto Show arriving February 17th, there will be 16 concept vehicles present at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. From high-end vehicles to your daily drivers, they will all be on the show floor.
Here is the list of the 16 concept vehicles at the event:
Acura
Precision Concept
The Acura Precision Concept is about performance and prestige through its ultra-low and wide stance, deeply engraved surfaces and launch of a new Diamond Pentagon grille.
Aston Martin
AM-RB 001
The Aston Martin-Red Bull concept hypercar is going to debut in North America at the Canadian International Auto Show. The vehicle has a lightweight carbon fibre frame and radical aerodynamics for remarkable levels of downforce.
Buick
Avista
The Avista is elegant and comes packed with a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-6. This coupe is a modern expression of Buick’s heritage that brings back its historic performance roots.
Cadillac
Cadillac Escala Concept
Under the hood of the Cadillac Escala is a 4.0 Litre V8 engine which makes it as powerful performance wise as it is beautiful.
Genesis
New York Concept
This luxury sports sedan is stunning with its futuristic design and pays homage to the Genesis brand’s agile and sporty nature. On the inside it combines advanced technology with absolute luxury.
Honda
Civic Type R Prototype
The Honda Civic Type R has a muscular body styling and has had modifications made to improve aerodynamic performance. Unique to this prototype vehicle is its highly reflective aluminum-effect finish.
INFINITI
INFINITI QX50 Concept
INFINITI’s perception of a next-generation mid-size premium crossover can be seen in their QX50 Concept. This concept vehicle is the next mark towards Infiniti's future autonomous drive support technologies.
Lincoln
Lincoln Navigator Concept
Powering the Lincoln Navigator is a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that has more than 400 horsepower.
The inspiration for the design of this concept vehicle came from luxury sailboats and yachts.
Mitsubishi
GT-PHEV
The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV concept features a 2.5-litre gasoline engine and three electric motors. Based on electric-only range, it is estimated to reach approximately 120 km, but has a total cruising range of nearly 1,200 km. Its CO2 emissions are less than 26 g/km.
Nissan

Toyota
FCV Plus Hydrogen Fuel Cell Concept
It doesn't get more futuristic looking than the Toyota FCV which shows the vision the company has of a Hydrogen-based society. The concept vehicle is able to generate electricity directly from hydrogen stored outside the vehicle and make it into a stable source of power.
