Ford is bringing one of their new vehicles to Canada in the form of the Ford EcoSport. This is a vehicle that slides into the brands expansive crossover lineup.
The small crossover will come with a turbocharged 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine that comes standard with only FWD available. The other version will have a more powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that can be paired up with AWD as an alternative option.
The technology is a key focal point for the EcoSport as the improved SYNC 3 system will come with the vehicle as well the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay that will help boost the crossover's connectivity.
The small crossover has been catching on with buyers around the world so it is no surprise Ford throws their hat into the ring for a small crossover of their own to enter North America. The EcoSport is based on the same platform that is currently being utilized by the subcompact Fiesta.
Surprisingly enough the EcoSport is a model that has been around in global markets since 2003 but this will be a new market for Canada and the United States. About 1.7 million has been sold globally for the past 13 years but ford expects they will double the sales by 2020.
