2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 to make its debut at LA Auto Show

The Mercedes-Benz E63 is to debut at the LA Auto Show and it is the most powerful version of the vehicle yet. Under the hood lies a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 that pumps out 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, plus it is sticking with its nine-speed AMG Speedshift multi-clutch transmission. It has an all-wheel-drive system that pledges to have totally variable front-to-rear torque.

What's impressive about the Mercedes-Benz E63 is that it's base model is even faster than the 640-hp Cadillac CTS-V. The E63 can do 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds while the Cadillac is 3.7 seconds.

The new 4Matic system is also rumoured to have Drift mode. What this entails is that the driver can switch off stability control and then activate the transmission's manual mode thus turning the car into a purely rear-wheel drive vehicle and allowing it to slide.

Next month in LA the Mercedes-Benz E63 will make its debut and sales are expected to start next summer. More info on the pricing will come closer to the sales date.
