Since this vehicle has been developed for the military and may be in areas where there is no source for power; it uses an Exportable Power Take-Off (EPTO) unit which will supply power while being in remote areas. A benefit for the ZH2 is that the fuel cells only emission is water.
The Colorado ZH2 is to undergo testing by the military to make sure whether or not fuel cells will work for them in the field. 3.1 million miles on fuel cell power has been racked up by GM's test fleet and further testing will prove of the vehicles capabilities.
