Chevy Cruze diesel to be whisper quiet

August 3, 2016

With the growing issues around diesel vehicles, one would be concerned about the market for those type of vehicles. General Motors on the other hand still believes there is enough interest and in doing so is creating a second diesel-powered version of the Chevrolet Cruze. Chevy will introduce a 1.6-liter turbo diesel for its compact sedan in 2017 that is said to be whisper quiet.

With all the negative talk about diesel in the news of late may make it come as a surprise that GM is being ambitious with their diesel agenda but the sales of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon have shown the automotive company otherwise. With a lot of focus in the car industry turning to electric vehicles, GM still believes the market for diesel is there and is happy to step into being the leader of the field.

As GM prepares for the new Cruze in the US, they still must face allegations of installing cheat devices on first-gen Cruze Diesels. The automotive company is being demanded to pay $2,000 to owners but GM said they will continue to defend themselves against these allegations.
