Saturday was a mixed bag at the Spring Classic Car Auction in Toronto, presented by CCP Auctions.
A brand new Dodge Challenger Hellcat, the most powerful muscle car ever produced sold for a surprising $72,000, which was close to suggested retail, but below what many on waiting lists are paying for them.
A split window 63 Corvette, which is extremely rare sold for $96,000. There were some bargains too like good cruise cars selling for just a few thousand dollars, and some cars on the fringe selling for low dollars, so the sale is offering something for everyone.
Some exotics including an Aston Martin Vantage did not sell, but overall the sell rate has been high.
The crowd has been thick all day Saturday meaning the auction is well attended and tomorrow is expected to be another busy day.
In total more than 300 cars will cross the auction block by the end of tomorrow.
This sale was notable because the memorabilia collection being sold off in the mornings is the largest in the history of the sale.
Tomorrow there are some interesting finds to be snapped up, including an older Acura NSX, which provides Ferrari like performance, and Honda like reliability. The SST Corvette will also be auctioned off. It is a 1982 Collectors edition with mild modifications. The fuel system has been upgraded and the wheels are custom with powder coated centres...with engine and transmision rebuilds professional executed.
